90% van de waarde van elke kop koffie verdwijnt in de zakken van multinationals, dit noemen wij ‘Big Coffee.’ Met ons FairChain model delen we de waarde 50/50 met lokale koffiegemeenschappen. Betekent dat minder winst voor ons? Yep. Maar door te telen, te branden en te verpakken in het land van herkomst, krijgen landen deze 50% die ze juist hard nodig hebben meer inkomen, kansen, infrastructuur en onderwijs. Het heeft ons meer dan tien jaar gekost om FairChain in gemeenschappen te integreren. Nu is het tijd om groots uit te breiden. Help armoede te bestrijden door FairChain te drinken.

What is our vision of the future of coffee? We believe the only way to radically transform the global coffee industry is to create a global coffee commons where everyone owns the coffee they drink - farmers, roasters, drinkers.  This way, ownership means taking ownership. In 2022, we took our first step in this direction by launching The Republic of Everyone, the world’s first coffee commons. Now a small community of coffee lovers has ownership stakes and shares the responsibility - economic, ecological, social - in our operations. Exciting things are happening here. Watch this space.

FAIRCHAIN IS ONZE BLAUWDRUK VOOR DE TOEKOMST

FairChain is not a charity but a viable business model designed to leave more added value in the communities that grow our coffee. By roasting at origin, paying farmers living incomes and protecting their forests (and massively planting new ones), we have created a FairChain blueprint and invite others to follow. There’s only one huge downside to FairChain Coffee: brands like us earn less profit. Which is the reason Big Coffee multinationals and typical venture capitalists dislike us very much. It took us 12 years trying and failing and trying again, but now we can confidently say that FairChain is a very real blueprint for the future of coffee.
